She was born in Mexico City. She obtained her Bachelor’s degree in Clarinet at the Faculty of Music of the Universidad Veracruzana, under the tutelage of her father, Maestro José Alberto Contreras Sosa, where she also began Bass Clarinet studies. She entered the National Conservatory of the Versailles Region, Paris, with Maestro Philippe Cuper. During the same period, she took bass clarinet lessons with Maestro Jean Noël Crôcq, bass clarinet of the Paris Opera. She won the first prize by unanimous decision of the jury. She has played chamber music in different national and international venues such as Zacatecas, Guanajuato, Querétaro, CDMX, Puebla, Xalapa, Veracruz, Córdoba, Orizaba, Tampico, Monterrey, Paris, Italy, Spain, Peru, Belgium, Brazil and Denver. As a soprano clarinetist and bass clarinetist, she has collaborated in several orchestras in the Republic. She was principal clarinet and bass clarinet in the Youth Symphony Orchestra of the State of Veracruz. She was principal clarinet in the Puebla Symphony Orchestra and bass clarinet. She won interim positions on different occasions in the Xalapa Symphony Orchestra. As a soloist, she has played with the Autonomous University of Tampico UAT Symphony Orchestra, Merida Academic Camerata, Universidad Veracruzana Faculty of Music Orchestra, Xalapa Municipal Orchestra, Chihuahua Philharmonic Orchestra, Philharmonia Orchestra, Sonora State Symphony Band, Recife Symphony Orchestra in Brazil, Veracruz State Government Symphony Band, UANL Monterrey Symphony Orchestra and UANL Monterrey Chamber Orchestra. She participated in ClarinetFest 2023 with an opening concert in prime time. She has received honorable mentions in the First Zacatecas Clarinet Competition; Interlochen Arts Camp, Michigan; and outstanding participation in the Orfeo International Music Festival in Sofia, Bulgaria. As a teacher, she has given Clarinet Technique and Interpretation courses in national locations such as Puebla, CDMX, Oaxaca, Monterrey, Xalapa, San Luis Potosí, Mazatlán and Sonora, and international ones such as Peru, Brazil, Paraguay and Portugal. She has been a jury member in several national and international competitions. She is the creator of the YUUBAN Tierra Viva International Clarinet Festival, in Xalapa, Veracruz, which has three editions. She is currently concertmaster in the Veracruz State Symphony Band, teacher at the Faculty of Music of the Universidad Veracruzana and at the Higher Institute of Music of the State of Veracruz ISMEV. She is the creator and director of the Xalapa TONALLI clarinet ensemble, which is celebrating its 18th anniversary. She will represent Mexico at the 8th international competition in Lisbon, at the 10th International Clarinet Festival in Paraguay, and within the Republic at the Intersecciones Sonoras Festival in Puebla and at the Casa Verkaamp Clarinet and Saxophone Festival in Oaxaca. She is named Royal Global Artist, Vandoren Artist and Veerkamp Artist.
